Economic development organization hires former Hamburg IDA Deputy Director and receives Top 25 Digital Economic Development Organization award
BUFFALO, NY – Invest Buffalo Niagara—the nonprofit, privately-funded economic development organization representing the eight counties of Western New York—today announced the hiring of Olivia Hill as business development specialist. Hill was previously the deputy director of the Hamburg Industrial Development Agency.
“We are excited to grow our business development team and strengthen our bench of experienced economic development professionals,” said Alan Rosenhoch, director of business development, InBN. “The experience Olivia has had developing Hamburg’s economy ensures that she’ll be a welcome addition to our organization.”
InBN also announced its recognition as one of the top 25 digital economic development organizations (EDOs) in North America as part of the 2017 International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference. The annual Digital 25 includes organizations that best use digital technology to differentiate their communities online and to better serve businesses. The award comes from Community Systems, a company that develops websites and software to foster economic growth and tourism in communities across the world.
ABOUT OLIVIA HILL
In her role as deputy director of the Hamburg IDA, Hill managed financial incentives for businesses seeking tax exemptions for expansion. As Invest BN’s business development specialist, Hill will support the business development management staff and play a significant role in proactive lead generation for the organization and region. Hill is a Canisius College graduate with a Bachelors of Art in urban studies and sociology. She served as the research assistant for the sociology department, was a resident assistant and was news editor of the on-campus news organization, The Griffin.
