M&T Tech Hub: Get Tech Savvy During Buffalo’s Renaissance – The Martin Group

If you’ve spent even five minutes driving down Buffalo’s Main Street recently, you’d notice that the talk of Buffalo’s renaissance isn’t just wishful thinking. It’s real and it’s progressing every day before us. The city’s tallest building is living proof that Buffalo’s boom is among us.

One of the leading drivers of Buffalo’s resurgence? The tech industry. For starters, M&T Bank along with Washington-based developer Douglas Development just completed a $58 million, 333,000 square-foot space designed to be a tech-hub for creators and makers in the Buffalo area. It will also create more than 1,000 jobs for those looking to relocate to Buffalo and work to develop the financial tech industry within the city.

So what does this mean for marketers in the greater Western New York area and beyond? It’s time to get savvy in the realm of digital marketing. We found through preparing for and supporting M&T’s Tech Hub grand opening that clients are looking to boast more than ever about how experienced they have become in the technology industry. M&T has worked to spearhead tech development in Buffalo, and they have set a precedent for other companies to follow suit in making large technological strides.

Keeping up with the technological boom will help businesses stay relevant, reach larger audiences, and foster skills through digitally integrated platforms. Understanding the importance of strong brand, user-friendly websites, and active social media pages are the first steps to making sure your business stands out in the tech and digital world.

Here at The Martin Group, we’ve noticed a major uptick in clients looking for help in their respective digital spaces. Much of our creative capabilities have switched gears towards brand support for app development, website redesigns, and social media management. Even sectors in which marketing has typically remained traditional or “old-school” (public relations for example) have jumped into the digital world. In the case of PR, it has meant making changes in traditional strategies, and adopting new ones such as social listening and influencer marketing.

The Martin Group has a front row seat to the boom around us, watching Main Street change before our eyes.
