Art Director

Full-Time Position (Buffalo or Rochester office)

The Martin Group, a premier integrated communications firm headquartered in Buffalo, NY is looking to hire an Art Director in our Buffalo or Rochester location.

You will be responsible for coordinating with the Creative Director, account services, and other internal resources to develop and execute creative solutions ranging from complex campaign initiatives to small, individual requests.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Work –

  • Develop and execute creative solutions for assigned accounts.
  • Works with Creative Director, creative partners, and Account teams to develop concepts and complete creative executions
  • Contributes hands-on to the project from concept through design and execution, effectively managing daily workload, projects, and deadlines
  • Develops and executes creative solutions ranging from complex campaign initiatives to small, individual requests
  • Builds relationships at the appropriate client/vendor level
  • Provides accurate time and cost estimates for each deliverable
  • Attends client meetings and/or phone calls to communicate ideas and obtain approval on objectives
  • Revises creative according to client changes
  • Builds relationships with outside vendors, acquiring quotes from videographers, printers, photographers, and fabricators
  • Maintain awareness of pop culture, trends, news, and advertising industry happenings as well as the current state of the creative product

The Team and Agency –

  • Maintains consistent communication with creative and project partners, involving top Agency management in individual client business when appropriate
  • Assists with the creation and assembly of new business materials
  • Complies to quality standards for the team as set forth by the department
  • Assists other members of Creative Team with the completion of their assignments as needed
  • Collaborates effectively internally and cross departmentally to reach Agency objectives

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong level of design and visual communication skills
  • Ability to utilize creative problem solving and demonstrate proactive thinking
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to articulate and persuasively sell creative concepts within the agency and directly to clients
  • Communicates effectively in person, virtually, via email, and via the telephone with both the client and the agency’s creative team on specific projects
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and brands simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Visual Communications or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a creative field

Salary Range: $50,000-70,000
