Staff Accountant

Full-Time Position (Buffalo office)

The Martin Group is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our Buffalo headquarters. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll help us keep our financial reporting, records, billing and other accounting processes running smoothly in our office of 50+ integrated communications professionals in downtown Buffalo.

Your job duties will include:

  • Processing checks and posting accounts receivable
  • Filing and managing job paperwork
  • Making entries to accounting system, including:
    • Freelancer invoices
    • Outside vendor invoices
    • Production billing
    • Purchase orders
    • New clients
  • Reconciling outstanding issues on closed jobs
  • Ensuring agency timesheets are up-to-date
  • Running mid-month reports for Brand Managers
  • Providing occasional administrative support (such as answering phones)
  • Processing postage for agency mail as needed
  • Updating CFO with projections of monthly Gross Income
  • Assisting other finance team members as needed

The ideal candidate will

  • Have 3-5 years of accounting experience (agency experience a plus)
  • Be comfortable working within a fast-paced agency
