Meet the Team: Ivy Page and Katie Steelman

March 23, 2021

When did you join our team at The Martin Group?

Ivy: I joined The Martin Group in October 2020

Katie: June 2018

Give me a line or two about what you spend most of your day doing.

Ivy: As a Project Manager, I spend most of my day reviewing schedules, creating workbacks, and communicating with account executives to ensure the creative team has everything they need to meet campaign deadlines.

Katie: As part of our Wegmans team, I check to make sure everything from signage to emails to packaging is grammatically correct and follows brand guidelines. I also write some of those emails and other pieces.

What music is playing in heavy rotation right now?

Ivy: I’ve really been into Today’s Top Hits recently! It gives a mix of everything. I have been loving Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa’s new albums.

Katie: A variety of music, but lately a lot of Glass Animals and Montaigne.

If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would your dream job be?

Ivy: My dream job would be either a graphic designer or working in the fashion/makeup industry. I’ve always wanted to be the person that names nail polish colors.

Katie: Writing for a TV show or working with animals in some capacity.

If you never had to sleep again, what would you do with all your newfound time?

Ivy: I would read more books or spend time doing DIY projects/crafts.

Katie: I would read more, brush up on my Spanish, and pet all the dogs.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?

Ivy: It’s a tie between Vanderpump Rules and The Bachelor.

Katie: Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. It’s a musical dramedy, so I think that counts as a guilty pleasure, but it’s a fun show.

Favorite cartoon character?

Ivy: Does Disney count? I’ve always loved Tinkerbell.

Katie: Mooncake from Final Space. He’s adorable!

What was your first-ever job?

Ivy: My first-ever job was at Dairy Queen. I worked there for seven years and eventually became a manager.  I worked with a lot of my friends, so it was always so much fun! Also, ice cream for dinner was a fun perk.

Katie: Experiencing the joys of retail work as a sales associate at JC Penney.

Describe your ideal breakfast or brunch.

Ivy: Two eggs over easy, sausage, hash browns, a side of chocolate chip pancakes, and a large iced coffee.

Katie: Eggs Florentine or a Belgian waffle with fruit, plus coffee—or a mimosa if I’m feeling fancy.

You’re standing outside a 7-Eleven when the aliens land. They can only survive on Earth for two minutes. What snack do you buy to teach them about humanity and provide sustenance for their long journey home?

Ivy: Reese’s cups, Cheetos, and a large Diet Coke

Katie: Bugles. And I’d show them how to eat them off their long alien fingers.

OK, two truths and a lie.

Ivy: I played lacrosse in college, I’ve never broken a bone, I’ve run a marathon.

*Lie. I’ve never run a marathon, although it is on my bucket list!

Katie: I love to knit, I studied abroad in Spain, and I played tennis in high school.

*Lie. I’ve tried but can’t get the hang of it.
